Well, I am Tanmay Anand, and I write about the world mostly as a curious generalist - connecting dots across business, finance, energy, science, history and culture.

Think of it as a weekly dispatch from someone who reads too much, (over)thinks a lot and is trying to connect the dots in public. The blog is not about hot takes, current news or inside scoops. The aim is to write (hopefully) thoughtful and sometimes contrarian takes on what’s interesting in the world.

I am an engineer by training and by heart and my professional career has spanned across Energy Investment Banking, Climate Tech Investing (New Climate Ventures), Materials Research and Engineering.

There is a lot of exciting and interesting stuff happening all around us and we are flooded with information about it. Writing helps me think clearly and I hope that you find it interesting as well. Mostly, I’m trying to stay curious, make sense of the world, and occasionally trick people into thinking I know what I am talking about.
